YOUTH CAMP DETAILS
Mountain and River Adventures Kids Day Camp is located only 3 Hours from Los Angeles. If you are looking for the best place for your child to grow and learn in the mountains, this camp is designed for you! We have been guiding in the Southern Sierra and on the Kern River for 30 years and are proud to say that we have raised our Children to love and respect the mountains.
Will you already be in our area? Drop off the kids for the day camp and hear all about it at night! Or, come with your kids for the full camping experience in the evenings, while they attend adventure camp all week long.
We will be focusing on character and team building through various activities including:
Introduction to whitewater rafting
Introduction to mountain biking
Introduction to rock climbing (on wall)
Introduction to river & lake kayaking
Introduction to lake stand up paddling
Introduction to team-building concepts
Introduction to trail hiking
Introduction to gold panning
Adventure “tri” on Friday!

Code of Conduct
Unacceptable behavior, language or disrespectful attitude to any person will NOT be tolerated. Non-compliance will result in immediate dismissal from the program and no refund processed.
Orientation / Skill Level Testing
There is a bike skill orientation for the participants the morning of our trail ride. This program demands above average riding ability for riding trail or fire road. However, we do have an alternate option for kids who are not able to ride trails just yet. If your child has their own mountain bike with gears and knobby tires, and it’s in good working condition, with both tires holding air, then please bring their bike. We find it’s easier for kids to tackle dirt trails on their own bikes. Kids must be at least 4’7″ to fit our mountain bikes. Please let us know if your child does not have their own bike to bring.
What to Bring Each Day
Water shoes are VERY HIGHLY recommended as we are in and out of the water multiple times, each day. Sandals such as Chacos, Tevas, or Keen’s work well. Ideally a pair of tennies that they can get wet, plus a sandal with a secure back strap works best. A dry set of clothes to put on after water play is helpful as well. Don’t forget to bring sunscreen, a hat, sunscreen, towel, sunscreen, snacks/lunch, water, and don’t forget SUNSCREEN!!!!
