Mountain & River Adventures Employment

Employment Opportunities on the Kern River
with Team MRA!
MRA Employment Application

Mountain & River Adventures (MRA) is an equal opportunity employer which hires approximately 60-70 seasonal employees during each adventure season on the Kern River. These positions are mostly seasonal, and can be full-time, during our season. We also have several positions that are full-time, year round.

If you are a person that enjoys working with people and being active in the outdoors, we may have the ideal outdoor recreation job for you. Many of our staff have previous experience as river guides on the Kern River or other rivers, or have been a rock climbing or mountain biking guide elsewhere in Southern California. MRA is located about one hour east of Bakersfield, CA in Kern County and just three hours northeast of Los Angeles, thus making us a perfect spot for folks who want to work part-time, but happen to live in Los Angeles, Bakersfield, San Diego, San Luis Obispo, or other areas in central and southern California.

And we also offer internships for students that are currently majoring in Recreation and Park Management, Recreation & Leisure, and those seeking jobs in outdoor education.

MOUNTAIN & RIVER ADVENTURES is an equal opportunity employer. MRA trips are conducted under permit issued by Sequoia National Forest and Bureau of Land Management. Operations and facilities are operated on a non-discriminatory basis.
