Amenities to this area include two fire pits, picnic tables and large shade umbrellas, with easy access to our river put-in, horseshoe pits and volleyball courts.. Boulder Beach is used for group camping throughout the year and during our Kids Adventure Camps as well as our two-day Upper Kern trips. Dedicated to the memory of a very important member of the MRA family, Bud's Grove is a very special, unique place here in Kernville. Leave No Trace
In our continuing effort to protect and preserve the natural ecology of the Kern River Valley, we ask that each of our camping guests bring their own mess kits (see below for description) while camping and dining with MRA.

Please check out the Leave No Trace web site for important information about being a good camper.

MRA Recycles
Caring for our forest, community and our environment are important concepts to all the staff at MRA.  We are in the process of establishing a company-wide policy on how much trash we create, in an attempt to reduce our footprint in our own community.

MRA is making strides to reduce our carbon footprint. We now have a company-wide recycling program that encompasses both our Kernville and Campground check-in centers and our 15-acre campground facility. Our Guide Managers have been the major backbone of this effort and deserve big "props" for making the MRA recycling effort so comprehensive within the MRA culture. Next time you visit, please observe and use the recycling station in front of both check-in centers, plus all of the blue recycling containers throughout the campground. Please help us in our efforts to recycle glass, aluminum cans and plastic bottles.

What can you do? Plan before you come.
MRA encourages each of our camping guests to help preserve our pristine environment by creating less trash in the first place.  When planning to go camping in the Sequoia National Forest, remember to pack items such as reusable/washable food containers and eating utensils. Use cloth towels instead of paper, and bring reusable water bottles.  Bring a personal mess kit which consists of non-disposable or reusable plates, bowls, a cup and utensils, available at sporting goods stores, or in your own kitchen.  We have a handy wash station near our restroom. These are just a few ways in which you can help to create less trash, save room in our landfills and leave behind something precious for future generations.  Thank you for being respectful of the Kern River Valley and the Sequoia National Forest!
